Hello, I am a photographer and skateboarder based in Hertfordshire. I began photographing friends skating down at Southbank in the late 90s. In 2002 I was invited to become a team rider for Gallaz and Carhatt and it was through Gallaz that I really got into skate photography, taking pictures of the other riders for marketing and publications. In the late noughties I became a regular contributor to Cooler Magazine capturing images of the UK female scene as well as shooting female riders further afield around the globe. I have been commissioned to photograph for a variety of national and international magazines as well as being the monthly Nike London Ladies Night photographer.
My images have featured in over a dozen skate exhibitions (UK, USA, DEN, AUS) and also used in other ways; from promoting female riders in the X-Games with ESPN to highlighting women’s skating involvement on the Southbank throughout the Long Live Southbank Campaign.
After my experience with Gallaz, in 2005 I set up the first all female UK skate team: Rogue Skateboards. The idea was to promote and raise awareness of female riders who at the time were only receiving very limited coverage. After breaking my ankle in 2008 I decided to turn my attention to film making, creating and producing the first European female skate film ‘As If, And What?’ After getting the bug for it I went on to make two other films; ‘Days Like These’ (2015) and a short documentary; ‘Scratch the Surface’ (2017), which took Best Film Award at Shextreme Film Festival in the same year.
